Dominique Alexander Fischer was a beautiful young man who loved life, family, people and most importantly God. He was the "All-American Kid" who excelled at baseball, basketball and football at his beloved Detroit Catholic Central High School. Dominique's signature smile captured our hearts, while allowing us to see the beauty of his heart. His future appeared to be very bright until November of 2007, at age 20 when he was diagnosed with bi-polar & schizophrenia disorders. On June 27, 2010, at 23 years old, we lost Dominique to suicide.
To provide access to educational resources and support to individuals and the families of those living with mental illness. Dominique would want others to learn and benefit from his life experiences; the good and the not so good. He would want us to help the individuals, their families and friends cope with the challenges of living with mental illness. We want you to know that reovery is possible. It is in that spirit that we established The Dominique Fischer Memorial Foundation (DFMF).
